Description
Tabriz Petrochemical Team (TPT) as a most talented Iranian cycling team with outstanding results could stand as first ranking Asian team in UCI calendar 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
History
TPT established in 2002 as a club team in Tabriz – Iran. The team structure was in elite and started with participation in domestic tours and national leagues and some sort of international tours. Participating in the tours like Turkey – tour of president- and Malaysia – tour of perils- are examples. After four years endeavor, and supervision of different riders training, the team could emerge to register in UCI as continental team for season 2007-2008.
Team started season 2007-2008 with fully domestic riders and whereas the season was the team first time registration as UCI Asian continental team, the team possessed 909.64 points upon participation in 5 different foreign and 2 domestic international tours and could stand the first ranking Asian team in UCI schedule. The second team pointed 545 with around half in points relative to TPT. At that season in individual ranking the first 3 points have been possessed by 3 of Tabriz Petrochemical Team riders.
At season 2008-2009 the team has preserved the same ranking with employment of one Kazakhstan rider and balance domestic. Participating in 5 foreign and 2 domestic international UCI tours could reserve 1015 points with around double difference with the second rank team. The first 3 ranks has been possessed by 3 of our riders in individual UCI ranking.
Mission
Our mission is:
1- To introduce Tabriz Petrochemical Company to the world.
2- Manage, serve and promote Cycling in the region at all levels.
3- To develop clean sport mentality among cyclist societies.
4- To encourage and facilitate involvement of people as many as possible in cycling activities.
5- Fight against addiction plight in community through promotion of sport attitude amongst Youth.
6- Introducing cycling talent to credit to European and American International Tours.
7- Creating and development of cycling infrastructures locally, through acquiring international sponsor’s facilities and Investment.
Vision
Our vision is:
1- To be a UCI Pro Team
2-Participation in TDF
3- Establishment of a Training base in the region and development of professional cycling hardware and software source.
